Jonathan’s Testimony: The Strange Way God Called Him Into Ministry
Everything that happened in my calling happened through there. But it was all there waiting from the moment next door where I got saved. A setup from the Lord. If I didn’t go across there, who knows what would happen. But God has his appointed steps in our life. And it was beyond anything again anything I planned or imagined.
What I’m going to share is one of the words actually I got for this year and last Sunday I was sharing several words and then I mentioned this one but I didn’t really open it up or speak about it and it came to me again as I ministered this week in Florida. There was the the gathering for the leaders, the messianic leaders.
Um so today um before we come into the presence of the Lord for him to touch and we pray for this year and we pray for whatever is needed whatever you need and then we have the Lord’s supper. I’m going to open up that word. Yesterday I came back from Florida where I’m where I was ministering and and there were uh various meetings there.
When I came off the plane in Newark to the airport a somewhat older man came up to me who had been on that flight. He comes up to me says are you? He gives me that look. Are you Jonathan Khan? And I always like I’m tempted always to say something else, but I I say yes, I am. And he he said he said, “I’m reading your book, The Oracle. I was reading it on the plane.
” So, he’s on the plane reading it. I said, “I’ve read all your books.” And he’s speaking to me. And as he’s speaking to me, I noticed another kind of elderly man standing in the conversation on the side. And I figured he was friends with the other guy cuz he seemed to be into it. And it seemed as if the other guy knew me as well.
And as I finished talking to the first guy, the other man begins to talk. I said, “Oh, you’re together.” He says, “No, we’re not. I’m not together.” He says, “You probably don’t recognize me.” And then I said, “What do you mean?” Then he tells me his name. The man was the pastor of the first church I ever regularly attended.
Now, this is not the house church where they banged us. The story I told you about. You’re all thinking, “This was right after that. after we got healed of the concussion and we looked for a church. But the first church that I regularly attended for a time at the beginning of my walk when I was newly saved and I knew this man when he was a young pastor.
He was a young now he was an old man. I hadn’t seen him in 40 years since I first came to the Lord. In fact, it was 40 years ago this year. And I always wanted to see him again. And he had wanted to see me and he knew he was following what’s been happening. He knew the congregation and the books and everything else.
In fact, he he told me he was at an event this past year where there were thousands of minister and I was speaking, but he couldn’t get to me. But now, God just happened to have the other guy on the plane reading the oracle stopped me at that exact moment when the man was in hearing distance to hear my name after 40 years. And I thought back because that’s the very beginning of my walk.
I mean, I’ve been 40 years in the Lord this year or as we’ve come or as we were entering it. And I thought back God sealing this thing and I thought about all that God had done. And that has to do with the word I’m going to speak to you about. I’m going to open up. I had to be the last person on earth. If you went to my high school and you took a survey, which I hope you never do, or were the people who were with me, I had to be the last person they would ever say would ever end up as a minister.
