Hey you guys, welcome to the Kirk Cameron Show. Today is Wednesday, another dangerous conversation. I always look forward to these. What’s up, James? You got something up your sleeve you want to talk about today? What’s keeping you awake at night? A lot, but one thing in particular. Okay.
What do you What What are we gonna talk about? So, I was um just thinking about next Friday and it being the 4th of July and how and I was like getting my playlists all squared up and Toby Keith just all the legends and put in there the song and I’m proud to be an American. And it got me thinking about pride and what the Bible has to say about pride, about being proud.
Proud to be an American. And how does that work with patriotism and being proud to be an American? Mhm. Yeah. I’m thinking of the flag that I got right back here, which some of you have told me is incorrectly folded. You’re not supposed to see the stripes apparently. That’s I didn’t know that, but um I love seeing the stripes and and uh I love being an American.
And my grandpa, grandpa, your great-grandfather, Papa Frank, was uh a Navy corman, fought together with the Marines in World War II on the on the island of Ewima. And I’m just I’m so grateful. I’m so thankful for him and what he fought for and so thankful to be in America. So, uh so frame the question for us.
What what what what are we trying to figure out? Is it a sin to be proud to be an American? That’s the question, man. Maybe we should call up Lee Greenwood right now and get him in on this conversation. Yeah, but I’ll show you some some just stats that I have. 91% of Christians in America reported to be proud Americans. So, I was thinking about that and decided to look into it and what does the Bible have to say about pride? And I found that there are two different types of pride. Yeah. Pride.
