How to Move into Change

  • Happy Sunday. I believe God’s going to do something great today. I want you to get your Bible. I want you to get your notebook, your journal, and let’s get ready for God’s word. Today, we’re going to talk about something that is um really I don’t think people know how to do very well, and that’s transition.
  • that is how do I change? How do I become the person that God wants me to do? How do I get rid of this old habit? Everything that is still driving my life, even unconscious thinking that is such a part of who I am. When God wants to bring change into this world, he finds someone. He goes, “Okay, Paula, here you are.
  • ” And then he begins to change me from the inside to the outside. We’ll get to that. That’s what John the Baptist says he’s doing. And so today, as we get into that word, before we do, I want to give you an opportunity to change some things with your life. What do you mean? To sew, to give, to be a generous, liberal, faithful, over-the-top giver because I believe extravagant giving is so important as a believer.
  • Now, do I support the church? Absolutely. Do I support Paula White Ministry? Absolutely. Do I give to the poor and needy? Absolutely. Why? because you always had it. No, no, no, no, no. I decided when I had a turkey somebody gave me when I was living in a trailer to take half that turkey and go down to Second and D Street and help people that were less fortunate than me.
  • They were homeless. I had a trailer. You see, that’s extravagant giving. It’s not that I gave a million dollars. It’s that I took a turkey, but I took half that turkey. Half of all that God had given me. Uh Dr. Jim Garlo reminds me of that story often. And he says, “Paulie, you you really changed my life when I heard you tell that story.
  • I never thought about it much, but he said, “I recognize the importance of being an extravagant giver.” You see, it might be the two mites from the widow. Whatever it is that you feel that whatever it is that is sacrificed to you, you go, “Where do I start with my giving?” Well, I think the baseline is the 10th.
