Good morning everybody. I hope you had a great weekend. It is Monday for our morning devotionals. It’s my hope and my desire that you join me every week and we could walk through the week together looking through the lens of the scriptures and of faith, hope, and love. Wednesdays, I’ll have dangerous conversations with my son James.
And then Fridays, a weekly wrap-up of politics and culture, helping you to find truth with your family in the midst of all of the chaos. So check out every uh new episode Monday, Wednesday, Friday on YouTube. Today’s morning devotional thought is is this. You’re going to wake up today and you can look over the fence and gaze at someone else’s life and be jealous of what they have and their life.
Or you can tell yourself that God has blessed you with things you could never earn. And the choice you make will determine the quality of your day. Do you ever struggle with envy? Do you got do you ever have a case of of jealousy? The uh a case of the I wants the the they don’t deserve it but I do. Jealousy and envy is a joy killer.
Do do you ever feel like some people just have the life that you deserve? Like like they’ve got it so much easier than you. They don’t have to deal with the difficulties and challenges that you do. Do you ever find it difficult to celebrate other people’s blessings that you believe you deserve more than they do? Do you ever wish you could just switch lives with somebody? Envy haunts all of us.
And so I think it’s a good idea for us to to drill down and find out what is at the heart of envy. First of all, envy is forgetful. When we spend all of our time concentrating on what other people have and complaining that we don’t have what we deserve, we completely lose sight of the fact that we have an enormous catalog of blessings that God has given to us.
