How the Holy Spirit directs your steps to find your life purpose

• So many people ask me, “How do I know what God wants me to do with my life? How do I find my purpose?” And I tell them, “You’ll never truly know your purpose until you know the Holy Spirit. Not just know about him, but know him.” And I’m not talking about a vague feeling or a theological concept. I’m talking about a person, a real person.
• The Holy Spirit is not an influence or an energy. He is not merely a presence in the atmosphere. He is the third person of the Trinity. He speaks, he feels, he loves, and above all, he leads. Oh precious people, this is where many miss it. They want guidance, but they don’t want relationship. They want answers, but not intimacy.
• But the Holy Spirit cannot be used. He can only be loved, honored, and obeyed. He is not something you use like a flashlight in the dark when you’re in trouble. He is your closest companion, your constant helper, and he must be known personally if you want to walk in the divine will of God.
• Remember, many times in my own life when there were no clear signs, no trumpet sounds, no visions in the night, just a gentle nudge, a quiet whisper, and I had to choose to recognize that voice, not with my ears, but with my heart. The voice of the spirit is often quiet, never demanding, never forceful. He is gentle like a dove.
• And unless you take the time to know him, to steal your heart before him, you’ll miss the direction he gives. You cannot follow someone you do not trust. And you cannot trust someone you do not know. And you cannot know the Holy Spirit until you first understand that he desires your fellowship more than your performance. We’ve made it all about doing.
