Paul says, “The God you worship without knowing. The unknown God I am here to proclaim to you.” In other words, the unknown God is the God of Israel. The unknown God is Yahweh. I am the messenger of the unknown God. The unknown God is Adonai. The unknown God is Elon, the most high God. The unknown God is Messiach.
So the name Jesus or Yeshua means Yah Yahweh the eternal God is our salvation. Only God who is not the world can give you something better than the world >> and can save the world. Only God who is not us can save us. That’s why it’s really good that we’re not God. >> It says he doesn’t dwell in temples made by hands. Yet he dwelt in Solomon’s.
But even Solomon’s temple, Solomon said, “Even this cannot contain you. You dwell the highest heavens and in the heart of the humble.” Paul is speaking diplomatically, but his message is radical. He’s speaking to the pagan world and he’s he compliments them. You are a religious people. >> Now I see this and I but but but then and he says on what you worship I am now telling you as if he’s joining as if he’s part of the same thing.
But actually it’s radically against p against paganism. Contrary to all pantheistic or polytheistic paganism the idea you know that he says God is greater than anything you see here. He’s not contained by it and he doesn’t need from us as if he needed anything. Paul’s Paul’s point here is God is not an I cannot be an idol.
You can’t put him can’t contain him in a a shrine or a or an object. He doesn’t need it. God is God’s the one who we don’t create God. God creates us. The pagan world made idols of their gods. But if you make an idol and that idol say that’s your God, what are you doing? What are you centering on? You’re centering on yourself because you’re the creator.
You formed your God. So therefore, it’s all about you. You’re the creator. The same way people have a million ways of making idols, they don’t call them idols and gods today, but it’s they’re just as much idols and gods. When you create your own god or your own truth or then you become the center of your universe.
In the same way even as a believer if you focus on what you do your works even as a believer when you focus on what you do I have to do this I did good or I did bad you’re focusing on yourself >> because who who created those works you did. But if God is your God you don’t so much focus on your works.
