God With Us: Understanding the Incarnate Christ
If you have your Bible with you, open it to the book of Galatians, specifically Galatians chapter 4. Tonight, my focus is on one of the most profound yet often overlooked aspects of our faith: God With Us—the incarnation of Jesus Christ, the God-Man. This truth is central to Christian theology, yet many neglect it. Why? Because people love Jesus—as long as they don’t have to confront who He truly is.
If you need proof of this, just look at Christmas. Now, don’t misunderstand me—I’m not here to criticize the holiday. If Christmas is your favorite time of the year, that’s wonderful! God bless you! But consider this: imagine pastors across the country, during Easter, standing in their pulpits and proclaiming, “Jesus is the reason for the season.” That would seem unnecessary, wouldn’t it? Because at Easter, no one is tempted to replace Jesus with anything else. Yet during Christmas, we constantly hear, “Remember to keep Christ in Christmas.” Why? Because Christmas has become something that everyone loves—but not necessarily because of Christ.
