“Get Out Now.” 8 Churches That Are Leading Millions to Hell
Beloved, we are living in a time when not everything that calls itself church is truly the church of Jesus Christ. The Bible warns us that in the last days, many will have form of godliness but deny its power. 2 Timothy 3:55, they may have crosses on their buildings, choirs that sing beautifully, and preachers who fill stadiums.
They may use the name of Jesus and even open their Bibles. But the question is this, are they leading people to Christ or are they leading people to destruction? Satan does not only work through obvious wickedness. He works best through deception, through counterfeats that look close enough to the truth to be convincing. Tonight, we must examine the marks of of eight types of churches that look Christian but are sending millions to hell.
The tragedy of the modern age is that many churches have exchanged the solemn weight of the gospel for the shallow thrills of entertainment. When you walk into some of these sanctuaries, the dimmed lights, booming music, and dazzling stage effects make it feel less like the gathering of saints and more like a concert hall. The sermons are polished and full of humor, yet noticeably empty of conviction.
Instead of the word of God piercing the heart, what people receive is a motivational pep talk designed to keep them coming back next week. The goal is not holiness but happiness. The tragedy is that people leave with smiles on their faces while their souls remain in chains. This kind of church operates on the assumption that people need to be entertained in order to hear the truth.
The gospel, however, does not need to be dressed up with theatrics. Paul declared plainly, “I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.” See 1 Corinthians 2:2. He did not rely on cleverness of speech or worldly appeal because he knew that the power to save is not in the performance but in the message of the cross.
