Trust God’s Timing: The Power of Prayer in Uncertain Times
When my kids ask me for something and I say no, it’s not because I don’t want the best for them. As a parent, I sometimes know that what they’re asking for isn’t truly what they need—or what’s best for them in the long run. Often, I have a better “yes” waiting for them, something more aligned with their growth and well-being.
If I, as an imperfect human parent, can do that—how much more will your Heavenly Father, who is full of love and perfect wisdom, want to give you what is truly good? Trust in the nature and character of God. Don’t allow disappointment to keep you from prayer. Don’t stop seeking Him because you feel like He didn’t answer the way you expected. Go to Him again. Trust Him again.
God is a loving Father with a great plan and purpose for your life.
Prayer is the greatest weapon we have as believers. It’s our anchor in uncertain times. James 5:16 tells us, “The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous person avails much.” I especially love how The Message Bible puts it: “The prayer of a person living right with God is something powerful to be reckoned with.”
Don’t underestimate the power of prayer. It is the most powerful tool we have—and yet, often the most underused.
