Now Lake and Palaski was a very very very rough area. As a matter of fact, it was the highest crime area in Chicago when we first came. That was back in 1980. Started the ministry back in 1989. So, here we were. That was our assignment. Remember, once you become a kingdom citizen, you’re no longer employed. You’re deployed.
>> Now, Christianity was never meant to be dictated. >> It was meant to be demonstrated. Amen. >> Say, “Amen.” >> Amen. >> So, here we were and we had grown to about 50 people. So, one day we’re in there. I was in there having a prayer meeting that we’re just kind of praying and a lady broke in the FRONT DOOR.
WHO’S THE PASTOR in here? I said, I’m the pastor. I need your help. I said, what’s wrong, lady? THE DRUG DEALERS HAVE TAKEN over our block. I said, “Okay.” She said, “THEY COME OUT AT 12:00 NOON. They don’t leave till 12 midnight. THEY SELL DRUGS ALL DURING THIS TIME. Our kids cannot play. The all the residents are terrified.
They got guns, everything.” I said, “Lady, get in this circle.” Why? Because I’m about to seek headquarters. Now, I’M NOT GOING TO TRY TO THINK THIS OUT CUZ IT AIN’T IN THERE. >> AND THE WORLD IS TRYING TO SOLVE THESE LEVELS OF PROBLEMS WITHOUT THE BLESSING. >> THAT’S WHY YOU GOT SO MANY SIDE EFFECTS HERE.
