Be Haters Of Evil
-
Hey, when was the last time you were encouraged to hate evil? We don’t think about that very often. We don’t talk about that much. But the Bible tells us that we need to hate evil and love that which is good. In fact, Jesus put it to us this way that if we are friends of the world, then we can be no friend of God.
-
But the truth is that when you get the word of God in you, the Bible, God’s incredible powerful truth, it begins to transform you from the inside out. You don’t have to go around and do Christianity. If you yield to Jesus, the word of God, the Bible, comes out of you by the power of God. And in doing that, listen, in doing that, you’re going to experience this upright strength to stand for what is right.
-
And if you stand for what’s right, friend, you’re going to wind up hating evil. God hates evil. So, let’s get into the word of God together. Let’s dive in and let’s look at this message that I hope challenges you and gets you excited about doing the right thing because in that right thing is liberty.
-
So, let’s learn how to hate evil as we dive into our Bibles right now. You and I now are called to be haters of evil. It says abhore what is evil as a believer. If we’re going to be walking and talking with the Lord all the way into heaven and we’re going to be who we are in Christ Jesus, then the truth of the matter is you and I have to hate evil.
-
The Bible says you as a believer are to be disgusted regarding evil. The Bible says you and I are to hate evil. What else does that word say? That we’re to be angry with it, to resist it, to push it away, to fight against it, to loathe it. to loathe. We don’t even use that word anymore. It’s old English to loathe.
-
I mean, it sounds brutal, doesn’t it? I loathe you. I mean, that sounds hurtful. But the listen, the Bible says to the Christian church in the 21st century, hate evil. And I’m afraid we don’t as a church. I’m not saying this church, and I’m not saying you, I’m saying the church in the 21st century. Do we hate evil? I don’t know. It doesn’t look like it to me.
-
We’re very willing to keep our mouth shut in the face of evil. And that is actually being in agreement. If we never speak up, we are agreeing with the evil. If you never stand up and speak up against what is evil, you are condoning that evil. You say, “Well, I don’t I don’t believe that. I I I I don’t I don’t like that.” Say something.
-
Isn’t that the motto for Homeland Security? See something, say something. Wouldn’t that be great if the church took that on? See something? Say something. When the church sees an injustice, when the church sees an evil, when the church sees something that is wrong and hurtful and against God’s will and against God’s Bible, we’re supposed to say something.
-
But you know what we do? We’re car we’re cowards. We We say things like this. I don’t know why somebody doesn’t do something. Failing to realize that God allowed you to see the problem for you to do something about it. Well, I don’t know why we don’t have a ministry for this. Well, that’s a great idea. Head it up.
