if you will please and uh we’ll read the first nine verses and tonight uh we want to just give in the broadest Spectrum an overview of our study and then we’ll come back in detail Exodus 25: 1-9 and the Lord spoke unto Moses saying Speak unto the children of Israel that they bring me an offering of every man that giveth it willingly with his heart shall ye take my offering and this is the offering which you shall take of them gold and silver and bronze and blue and purple and Scarlet and fine linen and goat’s hair
and RAM skins dyed red and Badgers skins and acacia wood and oil for light spices for anointing oil and for sweet incense OIC stones and stones to be set in the ephod and in the breastplate and let them make me a sanctuary that I may dwell among them according to all that I show thee after the pattern of the Tabernacle and the pattern of all the Furnishings thereof so shall ye make it now that’s a key verse God said stick to the plans I’m going to show you pre precisely how I want you to make this Sanctuary all right the
Tabernacle was a sanctuary for the Jews as they were in the wilderness as one man has said camping with God and the pattern was very very important notice Exodus 25 and verse 40 if you will for a moment and see that thou make them after their pattern which was shown thee in the mouth God reiterates God says it over and over again and you’ll notice that in the Bible God repeats things when he wants to emphasize them and God says make it according to the pattern because you see there’s a spiritual lesson notice in Hebrews chapter 8 veres
1-2 because we’re going to be going back and forth so you might as well put a book book Mark in Hebrews and one in Exodus not necessarily tonight but all through this study at least learn where Hebrews is Hebrews chapter 8 and verses 1- 2 now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum in other words this is what it’s all about we have such an high priest who is seated at the right hand of the Throne of the Majesty in the heavens now the high priest in the old test Testament just was a prophecy of our high priest
Jesus a minister of the sanctuary and of the true Tabernacle which the Lord pitched and not man you understand that all of these things therefore that are happening in the Old Testament are but Shadows types prophecies pictures predictions illustrations amplifications and things that point to Great spiritual truth in the New Testament now these things will come out later and so I will not scripturally reference everything that I’m about to say but let me give you something of the dimensions of the Tabernacle I want you to more or less
get it in your mind the Tabernacle had an outer Court 75 by 150 ft in size now children that’s just about the size of a lot that an average house is built upon maybe a house lot would be a little bigger than that but if you’re trying to get the the idea in your mind about uh 75 by 150 ft and it had a fence around it and the fence was 7 and 1/2 ft High I’m 6 feet tall so that means the fence was uh 18 in taller than I and then it had a gate one gate and the gate was toward the East so you just think of the gate
