Don’t Get It Twisted // Wicked: The Worship Of Wealth (Week 1)

• What’s going on family? I am so glad that you are joining us for today’s message. We are starting a brand new series called Wicked. And no, it is not about the movie or the Wizard of Oz. This is about what Jesus calls wicked and our relationship to wealth. And if you can’t figure out why you don’t have wealth, or you can’t figure out why you don’t know what to do with wealth, or you can’t figure out why wealth has fear attached to it for you, today, this message is going to help you get the right relationship with wealth. And I believe the principles I’m going to
• share have the opportunity to change not just your life, but the life of your children’s children’s children. Today, I want you to open up your heart and get ready to receive a message that’s going to help you no longer worship wealth, but walk in wisdom. Enjoy today’s message.
• Today, um, I have an assignment to start a series that I think may go down in history is one of the most impactful series that I’ve ever spoken because if you get the principles that I’m about to share with you, it’s not just going to change your life, it’s going to change generations that come after you. That’s right. Hear what I just said to you. This series is worth you taking notes, wrestling with hard questions, investigating, reading other books about it, seeing what the Bible says, and hear me.
• I want everybody in Transformation Church to be literate in the word of God. So, I’m telling you, don’t take my word for it. Go study it for yourself. Like, I just want to be clear cuz some people like, “All right, Pastor Mike said, okay, cool, cool, cool, cool.” And I work hard to make sure that what what I’m saying up here and what any communicator is saying up here is backed in the word of God so that you on a Monday, on a Tuesday, any day of the week can go for yourself and research what God says about it because you know what? He can give you a better better revelation than I can.
• And so today, I want to take us on a journey. Somebody say, “We’re going on a journey.” On a journey. We’re going on a journey to talk about money. Now, the word of the year at Transformation Church is what? Focus. Say it again. Focus. And do you know what? Most of the time you focused on money.
• How much you have or how much you don’t have. Who owe you some? Oh, y’all know y’all y’all y’all see that dude that owe you $6 from the seventh grade. Jammarcus, I can’t stand him. Why? He owe me $6 still. What? And I found that as I was going through the theme of things that become a distraction to us. I found that money, finances, diero, what’s some other names for money? Cheese, gu cheddar, bands. Come on, help me.
• What’ you say? Bread. Why I got so many food analogies? Lettuce. Whatever you call your money, coin. That coin. Most of us at some point on our journey with Christ have been distracted by money. Yeah. Can I make sure I’m in the right room? How many of us on our journey with Christ heading first giving honor to God who’s the head of my life? Like you with Christ have been distracted at some point in your journey by money. Hands, hands, hands. We’re in the right room today.
• So I thought it would be important for us to take the next four weeks. All I’m asking you to do is lock in for four weeks so that you get in total in totality the revelation that God wants to give to each one of you. I promise you it was a series like this that changed my family’s future.
• It was a series like this that allowed me to actually give God my heart at the level that he couldn’t just change my um what was in my hands, he changed my habits. I’ll tell you in a later um sermon how pornography was eradicated from my life through my generosity and putting God first. Cuz all money is is a tool for God to see, watch this, where he stands in your life.
