Born a Lion, Trapped in a Sheep Mentality – It’s Time to wake Up

  • There is a reason you have felt the tension inside you. The quiet frustration, the restlessness, the sense that something in your life is beneath who you truly are. That struggle is not confusion. It is evidence. It is evidence that your identity is greater than your current mentality.
  • You are not designed to live small, think small, act small, or settle for a life that does not reflect the greatness God placed within you. And the tragedy of life is not that a lion is defeated. The tragedy is when a lion begins to think like a sheep. When something strong begins to behave weak, when something born to dominate begins to live in fear, when something created to lead becomes content with following.
  • And many people today are not struggling because they lack potential. They are struggling because their mentality has been compromised. Now listen carefully because I want to define something before we go further. Identity is what you are. Mentality is how you think.
  • And the problem begins when what you are and how you think no longer agree. When God created you, he defined your identity. He said in Genesis 1:26, “Let us make man in our image and after our likeness, and let them have dominion.” Your DNA is leadership. Your nature is greatness. Your design is purpose. But your mentality, that’s where the battle is. The Bible never said, “Let them have fear.
  • ” It never said, “Let them have insecurity.” It never said, “Let them think small.” It said, “Let them have dominion.” Write this down. You were designed for dominion, but you must think according to your design. So, the enemy cannot steal your identity, but he works hard to damage your mentality. Because if he can affect your thinking, he can contain your potential. Let me explain this.
  • A lion raised among sheep will act like a sheep. Not because its DNA has changed, but because its environment has influenced its mentality. The lion is still a lion full of strength, courage, power, instinct. But its behavior becomes the product of its training. So it eats grass instead of meat because no one taught it how to hunt.
  • It runs from danger instead of confronting it because no one taught it how to roar. It follows the herd instead of leading because no one taught it how to stand alone. Isn’t that a picture of so many people? Born with potential but trained with fear. Born with purpose but surrounded by doubt. Born with vision but taught limitation.
  • Born with greatness but conditioned for mediocrity. Now you must understand this. God’s greatest battle in your life is not giving you power. He already gave you that. God’s greatest battle is renewing your mind so your mentality matches your identity. That’s why Romans 12:2 says, “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
