Good morning everybody and welcome to another morning devotional on the Kirk Cameron Show. Uh I had a great weekend. I hope you did too. And this Monday as you sip your coffee and you start your day, here’s a thought that I want you to chew on. Obedience is freedom. I think it’s actually better to follow the master’s plan than to try to master yourself.
Why? Because you and I were not made to be our own mini sovereign. Uh we were never wired to do life on our own. We were actually created to flourish and thrive under the loving leadership of our creator. So before we dive into the scriptures and my favorite devotional, be sure to subscribe to this channel and make sure you tap the notification bell so you never miss these morning moments of truth and encouragement.
So, we’re going to take a look at Psalm 119 in the scriptures. And think about this. The greatest need that you and I have is to be rescued from ourselves. Who we think we are is a delusion. And what we think we need is a disaster. And you put those two things together and the result is death. It’s it’s true. Uh I’m not just saying this.
God tells us this because he made us and wired us to to to be in awe and wonder of him and to submit to his loving leadership. The scriptures say um uh he who trusts in his own heart is a fool and there is a way that seems right to a man but the end of that path leads to death. Do you have children, grandchildren? If you do, then it didn’t take long for you to realize that these little people actually think life would go better if they could be the master of their own lives.
It didn’t take you long to figure out that these little self-s sovereigns would much rather not have you tell them what to do, but can do anything that they want. Even though that little child can’t walk and they can’t speak, they’re already rejecting your wisdom and rebelling against your authority. Think, think about it.
