What made you choose this one? I like the spicy topics. I think it was because I like wine. questioning the preconceptions that a lot of Christians have and I just want to better understand them and talk them out. So, that’s what I picked today. And in honor of it, I got my course banquet shirt on. Oh, I think he’s tipping his hat just a little bit, he’s he’s letting the cat out of the bag.
So, I found that there’s four main arguments for people who say that Christians shouldn’t drink alcohol. Number one is drunkenness. The Bible says don’t get drunk on wine and they say that’s a bad idea. Number two is it could cause others to stumble. Number three is back then the wine was different and it had way less alcohol than today.
And the last one is that it’s bad for your Christian testimony for for a Christian to be seen having a glass of Chardonnay. Yeah. Well, first of all, I think it’s important that we are only looking at this through the lens of what the Bible says and the concepts that the Bible’s trying to teach us. So, let’s just start off with number one, which is drunkenness.
Um, there’s a couple of verses that they like to quote when they’re talking about this to kind of embolden their point, which is Ephesians 5:18. Do not get drunk on wine, which lead to leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the spirit. Yeah. Another one is Proverbs 20 verse one. It says, “Wine is a mocker.
