God bless you guys. Hey, today uh today’s a special day. So, we’re going to do something special on this the 331st day. 34 days remaining. Check it out. Psalm 75:1. We’re going to read Psalm 75:1, Colossians 1:3, and 1 Thessalonians 1 verse 2. And um I know we’ve never done this before, but hey, this is our first Thanksgiving together.
So Psalm 75:1 says, “We give thanks to you, oh God. We give thanks for your wondrous works. Declare that your name is near.” Colossians 1:3. We give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you. First Thessalonians 1:2, we give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers. What a beautiful, beautiful collection.
Three wonderful verses. All of them saying pretty much the same thing. But of course today we’re dialing down on what they say exactly. Each of them have this element. We give thanks to you, oh God. And that’s what we are going to be praying. We give thanks to you, oh God. Colossians, we give thanks to you, God and father.
1 Thessalonians 1:2, we give thanks to God always. Beautiful. powerful, wonderful truth. And what a great challenge for us to make sure that our attitude is right as we talked about last night at service. So let’s pray it together, folks, one more time, one more reading. We give thanks to you, God. We give thanks to you, Lord.
Oh God, we give thanks for your wondrous works. declare that your name is near. Think of that. Secondly, we give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you. And then finally, we give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers. This is what what we’ve been doing all this year together, and we’re going to do it now together.
Almighty God and Father, Lord Jesus Christ, Savior, Holy Spirit, the very one who indwells us as believers. We come before you Lord this morning on this Thanksgiving day which technically is every day for the believer but we thank you Lord that as a nation our country pauses today to give you thanks.
