Overthrowing Thrones of Darkness

The current era is defined by a fierce spiritual war, and the core message of this teaching is to provide a Biblical foundation for the next step the Holy Spirit is calling the Eklesia (the Church) to take. This involves dealing directly with Thrones of Darkness and Thrones of Iniquity in the spirit realm that seek to control nations, regions, and cultures.

The spiritual realm government, though unseen, is very real and functions behind the scenes. God’s people must understand what is truly behind “unthinkable evils, atrocities, and ideologies” to successfully overthrow these powers.

I. The Government of Darkness: Identifying the Enemy’s Strongholds

These spiritual thrones are occupied by fallen angels—mighty ones who once worked for the Godhead as Seraphs, government angels, organizers, and stewards. They rebelled against God when Lucifer attempted to exalt his throne above God’s.

The Enemy’s Organization and Strategy

Hell’s government is highly organized, filled with dominions and Thrones of Darkness. These Fallen ones, thrown out of Heaven, now work through Lucifer’s kingdom and have been assigned to territories all over the earth.

• Territorial Rule: Some of the most powerful fallen angels are assigned to rule entire nations, while lesser ones rule regions, territories, states, counties, cities, or towns.
• Historical Examples: The Prophet Daniel famously battled the Prince of Persia (a fallen angel), assisted by the holy angels Gabriel and Michael, to bring God’s promise to pass over that region (modern-day Iran).
• The US Throne: The United States also deals with a demon throne, identified as the ancient god Baal, which must be dealt with in this “fierce war season”.
• The King of Tyrus Principle: Demonic thrones seek to influence the natural realm. For instance, the King of Tyrus (Lucifer) controlled the Prince of Tyrus (the man/natural government leader) from his territorial throne, thereby oppressing the people. The goal is to occupy these thrones to affect natural government, laws, ideologies, and culture on Earth.

II. The Ecclesia’s Divine Mandate: Overthrowing Oppressive Culture

The Eklesia (the King’s Church, the ruling and reigning body of Christ) has been called by the Holy Spirit to rise up and fulfill its governmental assignment: overthrowing Thrones of Darkness.

The Position of Authority

The church is commanded to “rise up and sit with Christ in Heavenly places” (plural), which refers to Heavenly Realms and positions of power. A throne (thronos) is involved—a stately seat of authority, meaning the church is to occupy a governing position and influence the territory with Biblical principles.

• Delegated Power: The Eklesia is to exercise Authority delegated to them in the name of Jesus. This authority was lost at the Fall of Man but has been restored through Christ.
• Action Plan: The Eklesia must bind them, remove them, take them down, stop their influence, and sit in authority over that region themselves. We are to Dethrone hell’s leadership in spirit realms that is affecting natural realms.
• Demolishing Cultural Iniquity: A major part of the assignment is to demolish cultural iniquity. God has provided spiritual weapons meant to demolish massively corrupt culture, smash warped philosophies, and tear down barriers erected against God’s truth.
• The Consequence of Passivity: Many in the church, sadly, have been passive, believing they should “stay out” of cultural and government matters. This passive approach has led to the rise of cultural evil, which is ultimately pushed by demonic princes trying to pollute nations with demon doctrines and oppressive laws like abortion or the normalizing of homosexuality.

III. Superior Authority and Spiritual Weapons

The weapons of the Eklesia‘s warfare are not physical weapons of flesh and blood but are “Mighty before God for the overthrow and the destruction of strongholds”.

Christ’s Supreme Power

We are not dealing with an evenly matched fight. Jesus is the Head and has preeminence over all principalities, powers, thrones, and dominions, whether they are fallen or good.

• Preeminent Rank: The Greek word preeminence refers to the highest rank or position; there is no higher authority than Christ.
• Organizational Superiority: While hell’s kingdom is organized, Christ’s Kingdom is far more organized. God has everything planned “to the millisecond,” and His Kingdom is “highly functional”.
• Invisible, Yet Real Thrones: Visible thrones (kings, governments) and invisible thrones (in Heavenly spheres) were created by God. God Himself sits on the throne of Heaven, and Jesus sits on a throne at the right hand of the Father—these thrones are real but unseen, and their decisions affect the Earth realm.

The Angels of the Campaign

Christ’s Kingdom has its own principalities, powers, Angel princes, and Angel commanders, highly organized under authority. They are a “finely tuned military army” waiting to partner with the saints.

• Superior Numbers: There are far more pure and obedient angels than fallen ones. Only one-third of the angels rebelled with Lucifer, meaning there are at least two-thirds pure obedient angels left. The odds are at least two to one.
• The Release: The Godhead has now released Angel armies in unprecedented numbers—the “angel gate is open”. This deployment is meant to assist the Eklesia in its war against the kingdom of darkness.
