A Pastors Perspective on Trumps Peace Deal

This message examines current global events, particularly peace talks in the Middle East, through the indispensable lens of a biblical worldview. The central theme is the conviction that Israel’s existence is undeniable and tied directly to God’s plan, which stands alone and by itself. Believers are commanded in scripture to teach the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, finding that every answer for every question concerning personal, national, or global events is provided by God in this prophetic book.

The Ultimate Authority of God’s Word

The Bible is presented as the ultimate authority and is described as holy, true, and perfect. It is alive and sharper than any two-edged sword. God announces through scripture, “I tell you about things before they happen” and “I know the future in advance,” which distinguishes Him from the gods of the pagan world. This is why the Bible is considered a prophetic book.

The sources emphasize that the Bible is self-qualifying; it encourages people to challenge it and find that its veracity holds true across areas like science, archaeology, and technology. For the believer, God’s word functions like “night vision,” allowing followers of Christ to see what others cannot, especially as things grow darker in the world. When a believer walks in the light of God’s word, physical darkness means nothing, and they are called out of darkness into His marvelous light.

Examining Peace in the Middle East

The message specifically addresses the resurrection of the Abraham Accords initiated under President Trump. While the initial first-term accords were impressive, leading to prosperity and business deals between Israel and surrounding Arab nations (excluding Iran, Russia, and Turkey), the current iteration is viewed skeptically.

A biblical lens suggests that attempts to broker lasting peace are futile. No peace treaty is going to work until Christ returns, the King of Peace. History confirms this, referencing previous U.S.-brokered treaties, such as the famous agreements involving Jimmy Carter, Anwar Sadat, and Menachem Begin, none of which lasted. Even the Antichrist is prophesied to write a seven-year treaty that ultimately fails.

Concerns are raised regarding the specific points of the new agreement:

  • Israel’s Loss: The speaker asserts that if one reads the 20 points of the peace treaty, Israel loses. This deal is predicated upon Israel giving up land—a cycle often referred to as “Land for peace”.
  • Hamas and Violence: Despite calls for peace, reports indicated that missiles were still flying into Israel, and Hamas engaged in barbaric acts against Palestinians and Gazans, including cutting off arms, legs, and heads, and video recording these acts.
  • Architects of the Deal: Questions are raised about the exclusion of the Secretary of State (whose job this typically is) and the involvement of two non-elected billionaires, Jared Kushner and Steve Whit, who are described as the architects of the 20-point plan. The speaker suggests investigating how they might personally benefit financially through businesses with nations like Qatar.
  • Divisive Points: Point 18 calls for an interfaith dialogue to shift mindsets toward tolerance and peace, a concept deemed ignorant of 5,000 years of history, as the Bible states that only God’s word renews the mind. Point 19 calls for rebuilding Gaza and laying a path for Palestinian statethood and self-rule, a situation that has historically led to self-destruction and attacks on Israel. Point 20 commits the U.S. to talks on a two-state solution.

The Unchangeable Prophetic Destiny of Israel

The sources emphasize that attempts to divide Israel’s land directly oppose God’s plan. The Bible warns against tampering with God’s authoritative word.

Prophecies confirm Israel’s central, unyielding position:

  • Jerusalem as a Heavy Stone: Zechariah 12:2 is cited, prophesying that Jerusalem will be a “cup of drunkenness” and a “very heavy stone for all nations.” All who try to remove it will be “surely cut in pieces”.
  • God’s Land: God appeared to Abraham and swore to give the land (extending from the Euphrates River down to the Nile and up into Syria) to his descendants forever. Leviticus 25:23 states plainly: “The land shall not be sold permanently for the land is mine”.
  • Judgment on Nations: God warns in Joel 3:2 that He will judge all nations that gather against His heritage, Israel, specifically because “They have also divided up my land”. The two-state solution is seen as leading America to lead the way in dividing the land, an action that is shameful in light of scripture. Nations that have historically gone against Israel (Philistines, Hittites, great empires) have perished.

The Antichrist is also prophesied to act against the strongest fortress and “divide the land” of Israel for profit and gain (Daniel 11:39).

Vision in the Night: Living in Difficult Days

The second key concept is that “vision in the night” means believers know how to live in a difficult day.

Jesus warned that the day of the Lord would close in unexpectedly like a trap upon those who dwell on the face of the earth (excluding the believer, whose citizenship is in heaven). He warned believers to be watchful and pray to escape the coming wrath of God. The coming judgment and tribulation period are signaled by distress among nations, perplexity (meaning nations won’t know how to escape trouble), roaring seas, and men’s hearts failing them for fear.

When these things begin to happen, believers should “look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near”. The current global focus on Israel is described as the ultimate topic on God’s calendar, signifying that the “chess pieces” are being set up for the opening throws of the Book of Revelation.
