You’re watching KCMI TV, and I’m glad you’ve joined me today. Let’s dive into the word of the Lord. I want to talk to you today about something that ties into the message I preached last Sunday. We’re going to discuss wounds and scars. As a new Christian, you may not have experienced much hardship yet, but for those of us who have been walking with the Lord for a long time, we have stories to share.

In the process of living for the Lord, we inevitably encounter wounds in our lives. If these wounds heal properly, they become scars, and scars tell stories. They represent the fact that you survived something and came out victorious. I’m reminded of a verse from the Book of John, chapter 20, verse 25. Thomas, one of the disciples, says to the others, “Unless I see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into His side, I will not believe.”

Eight days later, Jesus appears again to His disciples, and Thomas is with them. Jesus, despite the doors being shut, stands among them and says, “Peace be unto you.” Then He addresses Thomas directly, saying, “Reach here your finger and see my hands; and reach here your hand and thrust it into my side. Be not faithless, but believing.” Thomas responds, “My Lord and my God.”

We all wish to serve the Lord without facing pain or difficulty, but I can tell you this: God will allow seasons in your life where you experience wounds. You may wonder, “Pastor, how is this possible?” Let me share with you a verse from Deuteronomy 32:39: “See now that I, even I, am He, and there is no God with me. I kill, I make alive, I wound, and I heal, and there is none that can deliver out of My hand.”
