Pastor Kent Christmas | The Mind of Christ | October 16, 2024
You’re watching KCMI TV. Thank you for joining me today. I truly hope that what I’m about to share with you will help you in your walk with God. We live in a fallen world, and while we are spiritual beings, we face daily challenges. Our minds often wrestle with these struggles.
As we go through this lesson, I’ll be referencing Scripture. Let’s start with the core verse from Romans 12:1-2. I’ll focus on verse 2, but I’ll begin with verse 1 to set the context.
Romans 12:1 says: “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.”
Paul is urging us to present ourselves to God as a living sacrifice. In the Old Testament, animal sacrifices were made, but now, we are called to offer ourselves. We don’t need to physically harm ourselves, but we are asked to offer our lives to God in a way that honors Him. Just as the sacrifices of the Old Testament had to be without blemish, we are called to live lives that reflect purity and devotion. It’s not an unreasonable request; it is a reasonable service to God.
Now, let’s look at Romans 12:2, where Paul says: “And be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God.”
