” When you FAST – the power of fasting ” – Pastor Paula White-Cain
Isaiah 58 delivers a powerful message from God, calling His people to realign their hearts and actions according to His will. This is not always a popular message, but it is essential. God urges His people to close the doors in their lives that give the enemy legal access—what we call sin. While sin is not a widely accepted term today, it simply means missing the mark and falling short of Christ’s character.
God desires for us to cultivate Christ-like qualities in every aspect of our lives. How many of us want to reflect God, speak like Him, walk like Him, and live in His presence?
The chapter begins with a direct command:
“Cry aloud, do not hold back; lift up your voice like a trumpet! Declare to My people their transgression and to the house of Jacob their sins.” (Isaiah 58:1)
God instructs us to pray fervently. When we pray, things begin to manifest—both good and bad. We cannot step into God’s blessings while holding onto past chains of guilt, shame, or unresolved sin. Have you ever tried to move forward, only to feel like something is pulling you back? That’s because certain strongholds need to be broken.
For example, I personally struggled with cursing, but last year, God helped me overcome most of it. This year, I’m doing even better—praise the Lord! Every step forward brings me closer to looking and living more like Christ.
