From Plot Hole to Plot Twist: Trusting God’s Plan

Today, I’m speaking to someone who feels like they’re stuck in a plot hole—lost, uncertain about how things will ever make sense, and convinced they never will. Maybe someone walked out on you without explanation, leaving you abandoned and broken, feeling like life has unraveled beyond repair.

In moments like these, empty words don’t help. Telling someone to “smile” and “trust that everything will be okay” can feel hollow when you’re standing in the middle of heartbreak. While others may call it a “plot twist,” it feels more like a deep hole when you’re living through it—because the turnaround hasn’t happened yet.

The Cross: A Plot Twist or the End?

Who am I speaking to today? Maybe you’re still recovering from wounds that haven’t fully healed. Think about those who watched Jesus, the innocent one, treated as a criminal. To us, that’s a plot twist—we, the guilty, were treated as innocent because He took our place. But for those who witnessed it firsthand, it wasn’t a twist—it was a tragedy. To them, the cross was the end of His mission.

But from God’s perspective, the cross wasn’t the end—it was the fulfillment of His plan. Could the same be true for what you’re going through right now? What looks like a dead end in your life might actually be part of God’s greater story.
