Private Battles, Public Victories | Jentezen Franklin
The Ripple Effect of Consecration
When you read your Bible, only you and God see it. When you pray, only you and God know about it. But when you experience public victories, they come from what you’ve been doing in private—the power of consecration and its ripple effect.
Consider what happened after David defeated Goliath. In 2 Samuel, the Bible names five men who rose up later—because Goliath had four brothers and a son. These men saw David’s consecration in action, and it inspired them to rise up and defeat the remaining giants.
This is the power of influence. It only takes one young person to stand up and declare:
- “If I’m good-looking, it’s because God wants to use me.”
- “If I’m talented, it’s because God has a purpose for me.”
- “If I have intelligence or any advantage in life, it’s because God has a plan.”
- “I want God to be number one in my life, no matter what the world is doing.”
When one person in a youth group chooses to be fully committed to God, that dedication spreads—just like it did with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. It can also transform a family. The ripple effect of consecration is real.
