A Savior Who Stoops | Lisa Harper
A Warm Welcome and Grateful Heart
I want you all to stand and give her a warm welcome—she’s already here, but let’s make sure she feels the love. I just want to say, I love you. Thank you! [Applause]
I was just about to tell you all that I love you too! And honestly, whenever Debbie introduces me, it feels like an eHarmony introduction—it’s all downhill from here! That was pure smoke and mirrors.
I am beyond grateful for friends like Debbie Lindell. She knows many of the hidden stories of my life, yet she chooses to see the best in me. She radiates grace, and I absolutely love her. I also have deep respect for Pastor John, sweet Savannah (whom I’ve unofficially adopted as my niece), Pastor Brandon, Beth, Becky, and Pastor David. I truly love this church and this community. I keep texting Debbie, hoping to become an honorary Lindell!
The first time I attended DFL was ten years ago, and I was convinced Debbie must have mistaken me for Lisa Bevere or Lysa TerKeurst. If you’ve read Lysa’s books, you know she’s incredible—her books sell in the millions! And Lisa Bevere? She can preach the cover off a Bible, usually while rocking leather pants. Meanwhile, I thought, If I try wearing leather pants, it’s going to sound like a flock of ducks in distress!
So, being here with you all truly feels like an undeserved gift. Every time I step into this place, I almost have to pinch myself. I love the Lindells. I love James River. I love this community. And I’ve even fallen in love with this area!
