is hey everybody how’s it going welcome to the american campfire revival so uh uh things may look a little bit different tonight and you notice that i don’t have any great music playing like i normally do and i’m coming to you a little bit later than i normally do because i was taking my son and my daughter-in-law to the airport uh not realizing that with all the traffic i wasn’t able to make it here at my normal time so for those of you on the east coast it’s a little bit later for those of you on the west coast
um it’s kind of a nice time for us right now because we’re back from work and i’ve actually got my whole family here and my daughter she’s getting married and a friend of ours who printed up the wedding invitations are they’re here for dinner tonight along with my parents and so uh i’ve got some uh grilled chicken and some delicious dinner that my wife made that i need to go get to but i didn’t want to miss our chance to go through day 16 of the love dare now uh i don’t know if you uh noticed these these are some uh some beautiful flowers
i pulled it off the kitchen table um and i really i really loved studying this love dare lesson today i don’t know how you’ve been feeling but i found these to be quite challenging you know the secret of this book that we’re going through as part of the american campfire revival called the love dare is that it it’s really designed to change your marriage by transforming you not your spouse and i’ve found this to be it’s really caused me to look inside myself and to see where it is that i struggle with loving my wife
unconditionally and it helps me to know where i need to go to god in prayer so let’s do that together now that we’ve got a few thousand of us right now let’s pray together and let’s ask for heaven’s help as we uh continue to look into this this subject of love in marriage dear god we’re we’re uh we’re recognizing we’re recognizing the reality that loving someone is so much more than just a fireworks feelings when we first meet loving someone is is laying down our life for someone else even when we don’t feel in love
love is laying down your life for your friends and dear god that’s what you demonstrated for us when you hung on that cross and you say in your word no greater love has anyone in this that he lays down his life for his friends and that you demonstrated your love for us and that while we were yet sinners christ died for us and so god we ask for your help tonight we desperately need to understand love because you are love and we need to love one another so please teach us how to do that and we ask this in jesus name amen
i don’t know about you but i i the longer i live the more i’m confident that i’m dead in the water without the power of god working in my heart i’m very good at loving myself because that’s the condition of the human heart loving someone else and putting them before myself is the magic recipe for a great relationship including and especially our relationship in marriage so i’m excited about the love bear i met up with a friend of mine earlier today named rick green and and he heads up something called uh the patriot academy and it’s
