God bless you guys. We appropriately rightly have a long verse to read this morning. It’s a special day. It’s a very special day. Today, today is um the uh according to the Jewish calendar um found in Leviticus chapter 23. So, you want to read it later. Leviticus chapter 23. when you follow the Jewish calendar.
Uh today, June 2nd is the day of Pentecost today. And so this day begins a week of of celebration and festival and praise and worship um according to Leviticus chapter 23. And um it’s very very what’s remarkable about this is that it’s it’s reported in Leviticus 23 and it in among the celebrations 50 days penta 50 penta day the 50 day.
So God was harvesting the he had he had called his people to take in um the I mean it’s it’s somewhat of a spring harvest but for some of us especially for California it’s like you mean it’s summer but no um it’s it’s the first fruits and Pentecost uh today uh is the celebration whereby by you and I know it as what we’re about to read in a moment because what what the Lord did when you read Leviticus 23 and then you see where did the Lord answer these feasts in the New Testament and you know he did and he responded to them. He
answered them in the New Testament. They were promised in the old but they were answered in the New. And um and yet there’s one feast that has has yet to be technically fulfilled. And um that feast uh is one where the feast of trumpets uh has yet to happen. I find that fascinating.
That’s a talk that’s a talk for some other time. But we are awaiting the feast of trumpets to be fulfilled in the New Testament era. And it’s appropriate what comes first is today in the Jewish calendar is the uh 50 days after the resurrection of Christ. Um and Acts chapter 2 is what we’re going to pray everybody. Acts chapter 2. Now when the day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues as of fire, and one sat upon each of them, and they were all, here’s the punch, they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they began to speak with other tongues as the spirit gave them utterance.
