In the End – Part 2 (Hebrews 13:7-9)
-
church, let’s stand as we read the word of God together. I’ll read it um for for time’s sake. No, I’m going to change my mind. It’s only three verses. We can handle this. We can read this uh quickly together. It’s where we’re at tonight in part two of our message titled In the End.
-
And uh here we are in the book of Hebrews chapter 13. And it is, by the way, the end of the book. Hebrews chapter 13. And so um I’ll read verse 7 if you read verse eight. And then I’ll read verse 9. Remember those who rule over you, who have spoken the word of God to you, whose faith follow considering the outcome of their conduct. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
-
Do not be carried about with various and strange doctrines. For it is good that the heart be established by grace, not with foods which have not profited those who have been occupied with them. In Jesus’ name, and all God’s people said, amen. You may be seated. So, church, we have broke open in this area a couple of weeks ago in part one of this, as I said, titled In the End.
-
And um we’ll pick it up in in our second installment of this. And in in all honesty, we’ll probably get to verse nine in the in the third uh session together next week. But um the reality and the charge uh to all of us uh in this section is not only are we nearing the end of the book as I said a moment ago, but um the fact is and this is good news.
-
Remember I said this a few weeks ago, the good news is we you and I as believers are running out of time. And that’s a good thing. Normally when you hear about that where we’re running out of time, that’s a bad thing for the believer. We’re running out of time to do what God has called you to do before you either die or you go up. Same is true for me as a believer.
-
And I I’m going to let the Holy Spirit speak to you on this one, but as a believer, I personally believe that it is the intensity of the Holy Spirit to work in the life of every believer a sense of urgency. Amen. That when you gave your heart to Christ, a lot of stuff happened. But one of those things that happened was I got to get up now and find out what God wants me to do.
-
And it’s not a burden, it’s a joy. Because he’s done it all for you. The response back is, “Lord, what do you want me to do?” And it’s not like you have to do this and then when you’re done with that, you have to do this. Oh, no. No. You know how the Old Testament, the Ten Commandments, thou shalt not, thou shalt not. No.
-
Listen, for us, it’s thou gets to, thou gets to, and thou gets to. We get to do these things. We get to share the love of God with other people. We’ve got the message that he’s given us that there’s hope for all and any. Amen. Who will call out to him. He’s good. And he’s loving and he’s kind. 1 Peter 4:7 says, “But that is the end of all things is at hand.
-
Therefore, be serious and watchful in your prayers.” That’s a good word to all of us. And I want to warn you tonight if I’m faithful. I only got a half an hour now. I talked so much in the about the other thing, but um I’m going to ask you to if you’re going to take notes tonight, write real small and I’m going to do my best to get through all my notes this evening and you’re you’re going to have a lot of scripture uh to write down.
