LIFT Daily Prayer: Day 180: Delivered from All My Fears
-
So today is Sunday, June 29th, 2025. We are uh on day 180. 180. If you think about it, we’re going to be coming up on the 182nd day. Uh that’s going to be on Tuesday, which means we’re basically 180 182 and a half days. We’ll make exactly half a year. We’ll be halfway uh gone through the year together.
-
And so um here’s here’s our prayer for today. It’s going to be Psalm 34. Absolutely love Psalm 34. It’s the best. Psalm 34, but it’s specifically verses two um to 4. And it’s this. My sh my soul shall make its boast in the Lord. The humble shall hear of it and be glad. Oh, magnify the Lord with me and let us exalt his name together.
-
I sought the Lord and he heard me and delivered me from all my fears. One more time everybody. My soul shall make its boast in the Lord. The humble shall hear of it and be glad. Oh, magnify the Lord with me and let us exalt his name together. I sought the Lord and he heard me and delivered me from all my fears. spiritually growing up at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa back in the 70s and 80s.

We used to sing that song all the time. It was wonderful. It needs to be resurrected. We need to sing it again. But um we’re going to pray this, but before we do, notice this. Did you know that the Christian is to boast? We are to boast. We are to boast in the Lord. What does that mean? We are to boast about how great our God is and how wonderful he is.
-
My soul shall make its boast in the Lord. And notice the the position of all this. If we boast in the Lord, the humble shall hear of it and be glad. I love that. The true actual humble will delight in boasting in the Lord. There’s no contradiction there. It’s perfect. I love it. And so we will magnify the Lord. We we do that together.
-
We’ll exalt his name together. Here’s the promise. I sought the Lord. We’re going to do that in a second. And he heard me. He heard us. He’s going to hear us. And he will deliver us from all our fears. Please listen to this before we pray. You and I are commanded to not be fearful. Fear is a sin. Fear, as Charles Spur said, is putting faith in the enemy, putting faith in the devil when we fear. Satan traffics in fear.
-
Whatever causes you to fear is not of God. Know that. Are you fearful? Listen, are you still having to wear a mask because you’re fearful? Oh, I get it. If you’re having to wear a mask because you’re going through chemotherapy or you’re ill, your immune system is down. I get it. But if you’re wearing a mask because you’re fearful something might happen to you, that’s not the presence of God in your life.
