Hey everybody, happy Independence Day weekend is coming up. I hope you have a great time with family and friends and and celebrate the independence that we celebrate which also is a dependence upon God. We have a war veteran here with us and she is um she’s made it through battles with lizards, squirrels, birds, rats, and recently a chicken. She uh wounded the chicken, but it was just a flesh wound. That bird in our backyard has been resuscitated and rehabilitated, and uh she feels a little guilty about it, but we’ve forgiven her.
Her name is Laya. So, please pray for her. Today, we’re talking about politics and pop culture. Got a couple of topics that I want to talk with you about. One of them I’d rather not even mention, but I think it’s important. James, roll the video. Relief and rejoicing in New York for supporters of Shawn Diddy Combmes after the split verdict in his racketeering and sex trafficking trial.
He was convicted of the prostitution related offenses, but acquitted on the most serious charges that could have put him behind bars for life. This is a sketch from inside the courtroom just moments after the verdict was read. You can see Combmes on his knees with his hands and head on his chair.
Later, his family was seen celebrating on the street in New York City after leaving the courthouse. Why is the world even talking about this? Well, you you can answer why because this person is is super famous. I don’t even want to mention his name. The news seems to be centering around what some people think he deserves as a sentence and whether or not he was really guilty of this or guilty of that.
Uh focusing on the three counts of a quiddle or the two counts where he was found guilty. And I just want to say that whatever human courts judges assign to him as a sentence is the least of his problems. The real concern is his standing before the holy God and just judge of the universe. You know what the consequences are for this kind of behavior.
