The Shocking Truth: You Can’t Even Come to God on Your Own
Um, so if you’ll look with me at paragraph 4 and in your Bibles, turn to Ephesians 2. Okay, let’s look at paragraph 4. We’ll look at Ephesians 2. kind of a continuation here and summary of this whole idea of that that federal headship and the significance of that that that federal headship and what happens as a result of it.
Paragraph four. from this original corruption whereby we are utterly indisposed, disabled, and made opposite to all good and wholly inclined to all evil doe all actual transgressions. Um I I would argue again I said when we started, you know, this is this is a bad news chapter in the confession, right? I mean, this is it really is a bad news chapter.
And I would say this is the bad news paragraph in the bad news chapter. It it’s it’s really short, right? It’s the shortest of the paragraphs, but there’s like more bad news piled into this short paragraph. Look look at it again from this original corruption. That’s bad news, right? That’s that’s reminding us of the bad news that came before which is there is original corruption.
From this original corruption whereby we are utterly indisposed, disabled and made opposite to all good. We are utterly indisposed to all good. We’re disabled as regards all good and we are made opposite to all good and wholly inclined to all evil. And by the way, that’s just the explanation of this original corruption.
from this original corruption do precede all actual transgressions. So the sins that we commit proceed from the sin nature that we inherit. The sins that we commit proceed from the sin nature that we inherit. So it’s it’s it’s it’s bad enough that we inherit this sin nature. It’s bad enough that we inherit this guilt.
