Can We Rebuke The Devil?

• You’re watching KCMI TV. Right. Well, I’m glad you joined me and um got an interesting podcast today. Um going through my my study. I I I stumbled across something that I’ve really never thought about and it’s really changed the way that I’ve really done some warfare. Uh and I’m sure that, you know, the Bible says that we have an adversary, the devil or Satan, and that, you know, he’s constantly roaming the earth seeking whom he may devour.
• And you know, a lot of times we feel like the devil’s coming against us and um because I’m in this office and we can’t have a conversation. But I’m going to ask you something and probably some of you going to smile because I’ve done it. And um how many of you have in time said, “Devil, I rebuke you.
• ” I’ve done it, you know, and just get aggravated. I rebuke you, Satan. But when I begin to study the New Testament, there is no place in the New Testament where it ever instructs Christians to rebuke the devil. We’re instructed to resist the devil, but we’re not instructed to rebuke the devil.
• And um actually, I was just thinking about Malachi 3 and 11. We’ll go there in a minute. But I was just as I began to to look at this, I thought, “Wow, you know, I I’ve rebuked the devil so many times.” And uh I I give you the definition of rebuke. It means to speak sharply uh to it means to admonish strongly, to censor, or to command, to stop.
