Thursday day 304 304 61 days remaining in our time together in prayer and as we pray the word of God together today’s verse will be Revelation 1 verse 17 and 18 Revelation 1 17 and 18 the verses that we’ll pray today on this Thursday and good morning, good day, good evening to you wherever you’re at in the prayer room today.
Revelation 1 17 and 18 says, “And when I saw him,” this is John speaking, John the writer of the book of Revelation, “when I saw him,” it was Christ, we’ll see in a moment, “I fell at his feet as dead, but he laid his right hand on me, saying to me,”O not be afraid. I am the first and the last.
I am he who lives and was dead and behold I am alive forever more. Powerful declaration of the deity of the atoning sacrificial almighty God for you. Once again before we pray everybody. So yes, Revelation 1 17 and 18. And I’m going to read it again and we’ll pray it up to his throne room. John said, “When I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. I I passed out. I became completely catatonic, so to speak. I I fell down in probably total incredible um reverential awe. Some would say fear, but perfect love cast out all fear.
” John was in the presence of Jesus himself. And I’m not going to use the word fear, but I’ll use the word awe. I think that I can only imagine someday I’ll know. But to be in the very presence of Jesus Christ, I think you’ll be overcome and overwhelmed with awe. But he laid his right hand on me, saying to me, and here it comes.
Do not be afraid. I am the first and the last. Folks, the first and the last is the God of the Old Testament. He spoke through Isaiah and others declaring, “I am the first and the last and besides me there is no other God.” Jesus Christ in Revelation 11:17 and 18 is saying, “I am he. I am the first and the last.
