Ladies and gentlemen, churchgoers, brothers and sisters, it is time to say something that has long been buried beneath politeness, fear, and comfort. Stop calling this Christianity. What we see in so many pulpits today, what we hear from stages instead of altars, what is being sold as truth in bookstores and streamed and feel good sermons is not the gospel of Jesus Christ.
It is a watered down man centered cross less imitation of biblical faith and it must be called out for what it is. Deception compromise and rebellion dressed in religious clothing. We are living in an age where Christianity has been so diluted so redefined and so stripped of its power that it now barely resembles what Christ and the apostles lived, preached and died for.
And it’s not only misleading the world, it’s destroying the church from the inside out. Christianity is not about you. And that truth cuts deeply through the heart of modern religion. The faith once delivered to the saints was never centered on man, but on God, his glory, his holiness, his justice, and his mercy.
Today, however, the gospel is often distorted into a selfhelp program, a therapeutic message crafted to boost selfesteem and affirm personal dreams. People no longer come to Christ to be cleansed from sin. They come to him for career success, for emotional comfort, for temporary happiness, and for the fulfillment of their personal goals.
But the true gospel is not an invitation to live a better version of your life. It is a call to die to yourself and live for Christ. It is not the celebration of self. It is the crucifixion of self. Jesus never said follow me and I will make all your dreams come true. He said if anyone would come after me let him deny himself, take up his cross and follow me.
