on the subject write this down please in your notes let’s begin understanding the power of kingdom righteousness understanding the power of kingdom righteousness now first of all let me remind you of god’s priority matthew chapter 6 verse 33 gives us a clear indication of god’s priority god’s priority was stated clearly by god himself through his son jesus christ matthew 6 33 says but seek ye what first the kingdom of god and his righteousness and all of these things that you desire shall be added unto you you remember
that the verse before this jesus talks about the fact that only pagans worry about food and clothes and car and house and rent he made it clear that we should not worry about what we shall eat and drink and where and live he says matter of fact life is more important than these things he says and then he concludes his discourse by saying the most important thing a human should seek is these two things and it’s important for us to notice both of them come together seek first what the kingdom and also his righteousness now you gotta have both of
them and then he says everything you need for life shall be added to your life now it’s important therefore to note that god’s number one priority is expressed in the statement seek first god is saying that you should not be living to make a living you should not be living even to buy food and maslow says that is the motivation of all humans well jesus disagrees with maslow i appreciate his psychological perspective but he says maslow is wrong now when i went to college they taught me maslow was right maslow is right in the sense that his
assessment of our priorities are correct but he’s wrong in the sense that that should not be the human priority our priority should not be working and living just to pay bills and find something to eat and something to wear that’s a lousy reason to wake up in the morning we are stuck in traffic we have two jobs killing ourselves just to buy food and clothes and pay rent so jesus comes with another perspective he says look do not think about these things take no thought for them he says and by the way all religions are motivated by these
