James, roll the video. Well, tonight it has been confirmed two children are dead and 14 more are now recovering after a shooting at a Minneapolis Catholic school mass.
The FBI is investigating the shooting as an act of domestic terrorism and a hate crime targeting Catholics. Ivan Rodriguez is in Minneapolis tonight tracking the latest developments. In the first week of classes at Annunciation Catholic School, an 8-year-old and a 10-year-old are dead. We lost two angels today. The FBI says 23-year-old Robin Westman opened fire through church windows where children and their teachers were praying during Wednesday morning mass.
Children were ducked down. Adults were protecting children. Older children are protecting younger children. 17 others, including 14 children, are wounded but are expected to survive. My friend Victor like saved me though cuz he laid on top of me, but he got hit. The FBI says the shooter, who graduated from Enunciation’s grade school in 2017, acted alone and died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Officials are now working to find the shooter’s motive. In Minneapolis, a cruel and cowardly person walked up to the Annunciation Catholic School and opened fired through the stained glass windows onto a room full of children praying in the pews, killing two of them while they’re praying. Shot 14 others who are now fighting for their lives in the hospital.
What we know is that the shooter was once named Robert. Legal documents actually show that his parents changed his name to Robin to match his preferred gender identity.
