Good Lord’s Day to you guys. Always super thrilling, always super exciting. Nothing like Sunday morning, man. Love it. Well, listen, let’s get going today. Very simple verse, very, very familiar verse, but I think so appropriate for the season in which we are in. And that verse is found in Philippians 4:E4. And I think it’s a great Christmas theme verse and it’s this.
[clears throat] Rejoice in the Lord always and again I say rejoice. Philippians 4, excuse [clears throat] me, 4:4. Rejoice in the Lord always. And again I say rejoice. What a precious declaration. By the way, as we pray this, this verse is so important for a lot of reasons, but one of them, good morning, Denise show and Beck.
Lisa says hello to you. And we say hi to Jim this morning. Jesus or the scriptures say to this, no matter what the circumstances are in your life, rejoice in the Lord always. It does not say to us, be happy about everything. That’s not possible. That’s not reasonable. That’s not even smart. We are not to be happy about everything.
There are things that are to make us and that do make us disgusted. You’re not going to be happy when you’re disgusted. U you’re not going to be happy in pain and sorrow. Happiness does not exist where there is defeat and grief and death. It’s impossible. Happiness cannot even get close to what I would say is is depth. Depth of character, depth of issue, depth of situation.
