Okay. So, all right. If you would um I know some of you are journaling and that’s great. So, uh because of the inconvenient setup I have right now, it’s Matthew chap 25 verses 1 2 and 3. Technically, it’s a good chunk of the chapter, but Matthew 25 verses 1, two, and three. And um we don’t have the time to dissect this fully.
It’d be cool if we did, but I’m going to extract out of this a devotional approach. On the technical side, on the right application side of biblical study, you’re talking about an event that Jesus is exhorting and admonishing um regarding the events of the second coming. but we are going to look at it regarding the Holy Spirit in our lives this morning.
So, we’re coming up on 3000. And so, let’s do this together right now, everyone. So, in Matthew chapter 25 vers one, two, and three, the announcement is made that there are the 10 virgins, right? The 10 virgins, five wise, five foolish. We’re going to focus on the foolish ones because the wise ones, we already know what we need to know about them.
We already need to know what we ought to do about the oil. See, the the 10 virgins is it’s a parable. And Jesus is announcing that they are these 10 religious. They know all about him. Um, but it proves over time that five of them were wise believers. I shouldn’t even say it that way. They were there were wise believers and there were foolish unbelievers.
In the midst of the religion, in the midst of the group, they all claimed to believe, but only five did what they were expected to do. The other five let their lamps go out regarding the lack of oil. They ran out of oil. Now, throughout scripture, and maybe it’s pressing it too hard, it’s possible that I am, but oil in the scripture always represents the Holy Spirit.
