Haggai’s Prophecy & The Glory of Your Latter House
The word that Haggi gave the people as I prayed last night for a word for you was to remind the people of the calling he gave them, the promise he gave them of his faithfulness, his goodness, and to get on with it. [Music] Haggi 2:4. But now take courage, the rubbab declares the Lord. Take courage also Joshua or Jesus Yeshua son of Jehosedac the high priest and all you people of the land take courage says the Lord and work for I am with you declares the Lord of hosts and for the promise that I made you when you came out of Egypt my spirit
still abides in your midst so do not fear for this is what the Lord of hosts says in a little I will shake the heavens and the earth, the sea and the dry land. I will shake the nations, and they will come with wealth, the wealth of all nations, and I will fill this house with glory, says the Lord of hosts.
The silver is mine, the gold is mine, says the Lord of hosts. Now, the glory of the latter house shall be greater than that of the former house. Amen. All right. And that’s the key here. What was the former house? It was the first temple. the temple of Solomon. That was awesome. But he’s saying it’s going to be greater than that.
In 586 BC, the temple of Solomon was destroyed. Now the people of God, they were taken captive to Babylon. Now God brings them back and says, “Now build the temple.” When Israel first came to the land from Egypt, they built the temple. When Israel came back to the land from Babylon here, they built the temple.
Israel has now come back a third time in our lifetime or in our generation. Think about it. Israel has never returned to the land and not built the temple of God. And as we spoke on Friday night, end time prophecy requires the temple of God to be built in Jerusalem. The third return, third temple. So Haggi is telling Zerubbable, “Finish the work for the glory of the latter house will be greater than the former.” Hallelujah.
The temple of Solomon. They had come back and they had started to build it. But then came opposition. Then came the enemies. They the enemies tried to intimidate them. They threatened them. They had stop building. Then they wrote to the king and they said that these people are against you. and the and the building came to a stop.
