The world is unstable. The world is always changing. Opinion polls are changing. What’s popular is always changing. What’s in style is changing. What’s Don’t fellowship with the world. Don’t fellowship with with what the popular culture does, cuz it’s going to change anyway. What they say is right, they’ll change tomorrow.
What’s true, they’ll change tomorrow. If you fall away from God, who God is, you’re going to fall away from whom you are. If you were living in biblical times and you were a priest or had access to enter into the tabernacle, you would notice something as you proceeded from the outer courts into the inner sanctum and then the holy of holies.
You’d be struck by a certain substance that would begin to appear when you went into the holy place. You would see on your left this gigantic manora and then on the right you would see this table of the bread of the presence and in front of you you would see the altar of incense and all of them the manora the table and the altar were all made of gold. Gold.
Now as you pass through the veil if you could and only the high priest could do that once a year. If you pass through the veil into the innermost sanctum, the holy of holies. Interesting. We didn’t plan all this, but it’s kind of sounding like the song. Into the holy of holies, the throne room of God.
It was like a throne of God where he dwelt. You would see only one object, the ark of the covenant in the tabernacle with its handles in gold. Its mercy seat gold. Its two cherubam on the top with their wings outstretched gold. The Bible’s central word for gold is zahav. Try it. Zahav. The prophetic song that suddenly erupted across Israel just before the six- day war, just before Israel was going to regain its ancient city of Jerusalem after 2,000 years.
It just this song spread across Israel was called Yerushalam Shelzah or Jerusalem of gold or Jerusalem the golden. Jerusalem with its stones, especially at set times of the day, appear as gold. Jerusalem is the city of God and it’s the city called the golden city. Now, keep things keep this in mind because we’re going to it’s going to look like we’re going somewhere else, but we’re going to come back to it.
