Something Greater: Paradigm Shift for a Greater Life

  • Happy Sunday. I’m so excited we’re together. I believe God’s going to speak to you today. I want to continue on this thought about God has something greater for you. And what do I mean by that? It’s not just this hyperbole, this cliche. Something greater. His plan, his purpose, his will in your life.
  • And we see that in Luke 1 where Mary in verse 26-38 where where she ultimately yields as Gabriel the messenger angel comes and says hey God’s got this plan then the Holy Spirit’s going to overshadow you and you will conceive a child and you will call him Emmanuel. His name will be Jesus and she says be it unto me.
  • She’s afraid. She doesn’t know how. She asks him what are the mechanics to this? But ultimately she says, “Be it unto me.” And that’s where I want us to get today. How do we get to something greater? How do we bring forth the plan and the purpose of God? Well, there are three things she had to do.
  • Number one, she had to change her plans. Number two, she had to have a paradigm shift. That means she had to change the way she thought about things. And number three, she had to change partners. In other words, God was going to bring someone new into her life. Elizabeth, who was her cousin, said, “I’m going to send you down there for six months because not everybody can handle what you’re carrying.
  • Today, I want to help you get that renewed mind. How do I think like God? How do I have a spiritual mind? How do I see the plan of God? How do I know the will of God?” Well, God’s word is your answer. So, we’re going to get in it just a moment. And just before we do, let’s worship with my husband, John. I was broken. I was lost.
  • Lived through heartache. Felt the pain. Till I found you at the cross where you took away my shame. Just couldn’t see it at the time. He guided me every time. I would stumble, I would fall. You planned lessons I would learn. Use me for something greater. My master might nothing else could ever set me free. Grateful for the life you’ve given me.
