Pastor Kent Christmas | Slave Mentality

  • You’re watching KCMI TV. >> Well, thank you for joining me and um I want to talk to you about something that really affects all of our destiny. Uh I want to talk to you about slave mentality. And um when it you cannot have slave mentality and walk in your ultimate purpose and possess your inheritance.
  • Uh I want to use Israel uh the Israelites in Egypt kind of as our foundation to to maybe reveal this this principle in the scripture. And there is a verse um I think it’s in verse yes it’s 1 John 1 and2 it says this it is God’s will that we prosper and in Psalms 35 and 27 it says that God takes pleasure in the prosperity of his servants not the fact that we have pleasure but when we prosper and I’m not just talking about finance.
  • All right? But when we prosper emotionally and when we prosper in relationships and we prosper in our health and we prosper in fulfilling the purpose for which God put us on this earth and your father looks at you and the Bible says that that gives him pleasure. So, a lot of times, you know, we we put everything we we melt it down just to one thing to money.
  • And that’s not really that’s not what I want to talk about today. But I I I want to talk to you that a lot of Christians the devil has done a number on them and he has given them a slave mentality to where they don’t feel like that anything’s ever going to change or ever going to be blessed. So we go back to to the time that that Israel is in Egypt and God it was the will of God for Israel to be in Egypt.
  • We know this through the story of Joseph and and his father Jacob finally and their 70 souls. They go to Egypt and the blessing of God is on them and over the next several decades they centuries they begin to bless. They begin to be blessed. Uh they’re prospering. In fact, the Bible says that that Israel in Egypt goes through such a metamorphosis of blessing that they’re more powerful than the Egyptians.
  • They own more than the Egyptians. They’re more blessed than the Egyptians. And when the Egyptians look at them, they become afraid. And they said, you know, they can rise up against us and take our nation and they can overcome us. they can make us uh their servants. And so uh the Egyptians take Israel into captivity.
  • Now the Bible talks about them being there 400 years. Uh I think it’s in the New Testament. I think the writer refers to it as 430 years in actuality. But for the first 350 years, uh, Israel is prosperous. And so now we go to this last 80-year period. And it’s very interesting that when Egypt makes slaves out of the Israelites, when this happens, Moses is born.
