I want to help you set yourself up for spiritual success at the beginning of each day. So, here are five prayers to start your day with the Holy Spirit. Now, not only am I going to teach a little on each prayer, but I’m also going to pray each prayer with you. So, let’s get started. Number one, when you begin your day, you’re going to begin with a prayer of gratitude.
In Psalm 107:1, we read, “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good. His faithful love endures forever.” In Psalm chapter 9, we read in verses 1 and two, I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart. I will tell of all the marvelous things you have done. I will be filled with joy because of you. I will sing praises to your name, oh most high.
Psalm 100:es 4 and 5 say, “Enter his gates with thanksgiving. Go into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name for the Lord is good. His unfailing love continues forever and his faithfulness continues to each generation. When you begin the day with gratitude when you begin the day with thanking God for what he’s already done, praising him for his great works, then you start your day in the right frame of mind.
Far too many believers begin their day by focusing on what they don’t have, focusing on what they’re still praying for. They’re focusing on what went wrong. And by doing this they rob themselves of gratitude. And by robbing themselves of gratitude, they rob themselves of joy. Gratitude is a source of joy. When we’re in the right frame of mind and we’re thinking about what God has accomplished, we’re thinking about the might of his power.
We’re thinking about all those times he’s come through for us. This gives us that strength of joy for the beginning of the day. Now, I know the enemy may attack you. You may hear lies like,”Well, I don’t have anything to be grateful for.” Or, “Things are so tough right now that I don’t know if I can get into this frame of mind.” That’s not true.
