David was anointed with oil and the Bible says the Holy Spirit came on him that day and that same anointing is here. He’s going to sing some of David’s songs. But unless he was anointed, he could not have defeated Goliath. And that anointing, the Bible calls it a yoke destroying anointing. You know what’s a yoke? A yoke is something that puts you in bondage like a ox.
It’s yoke. All right? It’s bound to travel wherever the master wants it to go. As long the yoke is there. The devil has put a yoke on your friends in the world. Those without Jesus, there’s a yoke there. Well, you’re going to go to them. You can pray for them and the yoke will be destroyed. Amen.
Because a greater son of David, Jesus Christ destroyed a greater Goliath. His name is Satan. Amen. Where at the cross? And there’s something very interesting that for years, you know, I like to read the Bible and ask, you know, try to ask questions that some people don’t ask when I was younger. And I found that when God answers me, it’s from those sermons that from those answers that I preach my sermons.
One of them is like why did after David he killed Goliath, why did he, you know, he decapitated his head, right? He cut off Goliath’s head. Amen. You know the the movies and all that after the monster falls down and all that, you know, then they all like, “Oh, very happy, right?” Then the monster always gets up. Not David.
David knew the monster is down. He goes down there. He cut off his head cuz he knew how to get ahead. Okay. But he did something very interesting at the battle of the valley of Eli where he defeated Goliath. He took Goliath’s head and went all the way to Jerusalem. That’s quite a distance away. Why did he bring Goliath’s head all the way to Jerusalem? He must have been led by the Lord.
You know why? Because 1,000 years later, a greater son of David from his lineage, his name is Jesus. He would come and he would die on a place called Calvary, which means the place of the skull. And that place of the skull, whose skull is it? Goliath. So a greater son of David at the cross destroyed the greater Goliath right under his feet. Amen.
